- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I recently received a check drawn off a large insurance company in the mail. I don't recall them owing me any money so I wanted to confirm with the bank that this check was legitimate and not some type of scan. When I called the bank to verify a check I was passed back and forth several times. No one I spoke to was helpful. Finally they dropped me on an automated check "verification" line which ultimately passed me to another customer service rep. This rep stayed on the phone while she again put me on this "verification line". She listened as the system kept kicking me out. She provided no solutions. Her response, "Sorry, that's the only way I have to verify checks. Maybe go down to the branch" Umm, no I live out of state. The level of horrible service in business today blows my mind and the fact that the public has come to expect no more is even more mind-blowing.By Damon Pendleton, September 02, 2017
